Smelling like maple smoked bacon...

The past week has been rather busy with two meetings that were added to our schedule since we've been in Maine. Sunday before last we started a four day meeting at Second Baptist Church in Palermo, Maine with Pastor Chuck Barnes. One lady (a church member) got saved Sunday evening. It was a good week. We stayed in a furnished cabin with a wood burning stove as the only source of heat. Most of the wood we had to work with the first couple of days was pretty green so it was either cold or hot, and often smoky! Then we got a bunch of dried birch, ash and maple. Much better fires! It was fun, but after we left, all our stuff smelled like a smokehouse. Some of it still does.  Definitely nice to vacation with, but for daily living – give me a thermostat!

With only one day to do laundry and repack, we were off for a weekend trip to Amherst Open Bible Baptist in Nova Scotia with Pastor Jamey Grooms. Craig preached all day Sunday. A gentleman made a profession of faith Sunday night. We are scheduled to return for a week meeting next year. At both places, we enjoyed fellowshipping with our new friends/family. God is filling our schedule abundantly!

Being only an hour from Prince Edward Island, we decided to visit there on Monday. It was a beautiful place.  Definitely worth the time if you ever get close enough.

Tonight, Craig is preaching at the church that has been our "home base" for these last weeks, New Life Baptist Church. On Sunday we will be with Pastor Isaiah Hill at Sebec Corner. This man is one of Craig's "heroes of the faith."

Our time in Maine is quickly drawing to a close. It is amazing how fast time goes by. One more church in southern Maine as we head home for our building dedication.

The battle seems to be waging more intense every day. Churches and pastors all over are struggling. We need to be sure that we are prepared for what lies ahead. Pray, Read, Witness!

       II Cor 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;
Eph 6:13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Fighting with you in the battle

Back in Maine

We are back in our "home" for the next few weeks. After being "randomly" selected for search at the border where we ended up being detained about a half hour or so, and a stop at Stacie's favorite Amish store for another knife, we arrived safely.

Our meeting at McKenzie Corner Baptist Church was a blessing. They recently reorganized and adopted a constitution. A new family has joined the church with another planning to do so in a couple of weeks. They are seeing visitors on a regular basis. There was great liberty to preach each night. Our prayer is that the fruit of this meeting remains for a long time. We are looking forward to next year's meeting already.

On a side note, our home church is having their building dedication on May 25th. We are glad to be able to be home to be a part of that. To see what God has in store for our church as they move forward is exciting.

Last Service

Tonight is our last service for the meeting here in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. Tomorrow morning we head to New Brunswick to be with Bro. Andy Nissley and McKenzie Corner Baptist Church.

It has been a busy day to say the least! An all day preacher's fellowship with breakfast, lunch and supper. Between helping with the preparations for this and starting the packing to leave in the morning has left no time to sit down! Right now there are a few minutes to sit and relax before changing for service tonight.

As we will be in New Brunswick, I am not certain if I will be able to post anything until we return here to Maine. Please keep us in your prayers at this next church. The church was established over 150 years ago, was in the United Baptist Convention and basically has been reestablished as an Independent Baptist Church.

A Busy Week

Our meeting started Friday with a very good service and quite a number of visitors in attendance. Saturday was a little lighter in numbers. Early Sunday morning saw us at a sunrise service with breakfast after, then regular services for the remainder of the day. Monday was quite well attended although Tuesday was light again. However, the services have been very good. We have seen at least 5 make a profession of faith since Friday. A couple of young men seemed to get some help last night.

This coming Friday will be an all day preacher's fellowship. It is the first one this church has held. They are very excited about it.

Saturday, we will be leaving for New Brunswick for the week. Our meeting there starts Sunday and goes through Thursday. Already, 2 preachers have booked us for meetings since we have been here. One scheduled a Sunday through Wednesday and the other for a Sunday yet to be determined. We have been coming up here for the past eight years and are excited at how God is allowing us to be able to minister to the area churches.

While we are busy each night, it is quiet during the day. Plenty of time for relaxing, reading and studying. It is a beautiful area and a rather slow-paced lifestyle.

Thank you to each of you for your prayers and love for us. We appreciate your friendship.

On the road again

We have hit the road again, although honestly we haven't stopped traveling since we left last year a couple of days after Christmas. These past two years have been the busiest years for us. This year is pretty well full too.

Currently we are in Maine. The list of places on this trip is: Maine, New Brunswick, home for a couple of days (literally), Indiana, and then back to New York for a couple of weeks for a tent meeting. You can check out our travel schedule on the calendar.

The van has been such a blessing and a comfort to ride in. We did have a little incident where a passenger door was dented, but that was fixed with no problems. The only issue we seem to have with the van is the excellent air conditioning system. For some reason, someone feels the need to keep their vents covered as though it is freezing! The humorous differences between a husband and wife.

We are looking forward to being able to keep in touch with our friends across the country. Please feel free to leave comments!
