BUCK SETTLEMENT BAPTIST CHURCH - Bath, New York

This past Wednesday night we went to church at Buck Settlement Baptist Church in Bath, New York where Greg Ferguson is the pastor.  This is a great church and we enjoy ourselves every time we are there.  They love to sing and worship God and they absolutely LOVE preaching.  My intention of dropping in was to take my friend Evangelist David Evans and his family there on our way to Ohio as they have never been there.

When we got there Pastor Ferguson said he was going to have Bro. Evans and myself preach that night and have them sing. The Lord really helped us both to preach and the church fell in love with the Evans family.

I am glad we were able to stop in and we are looking forward to being back at the end of September for the annual fall revival. Myself and Evangelist Gary Lutrick will be preaching and it's going to be a good week!

OLD TIME BAPTIST CAMP MEETING ROUND-UP! Days 3-6

A couple of posts ago I gave updates on days 1 & 2.  I will summarize the rest of the meeting in this post.  I guess the best way to describe this year's camp meeting was HELP!  Pastor Guadagno and I were talking and believe it was the best camp meeting we have ever had.  Many people approached me and talked about how much help they got from the services.

OLD TIME BAPTIST CAMP MEETING UPDATE...

Well I had the best of intentions of giving daily updates on the camp meeting but it was...well...camp meeting time and I should have known better!  We didn't make it home until after midnight every night and were back at the church at 7:30 the next morning.

I will say the Lord gave us a great meeting.  I will be giving a detailed update within the next few days, but I didn't want anymore time go by with no new posts.  I am working on getting some pictures from our photographer and will create a photo gallery.  I do have a picture posted below that a preacher sent me after the service last night - the quality is not the best, however.

Stay tuned...

OLD TIME BAPTIST CAMP MEETING - DAY #2 - Hamburg, New York

Wow! What a service the Lord gave us tonight.  There was good special music from the Sounds of Praise, The Green Family and Paul Tripp.  The preaching tonight was tremendous.  It was absolutely amazing how the Lord put the messages together.  One would think the preachers got together and discussed what to preach.

Evangelist Jason Kendrick preached first on "He Must Increase and I Must Decrease".  Pastor Doug Fisher followed that with "Promotion Cometh From the Lord" and gave scriptural examples of how the Lord promoted people but first had to decrease them.  God really moved and the altars were full after both messages.

Morning services begin tomorrow and will continue the rest of the week until Friday.

OLD TIME BAPTIST CAMP MEETING - DAY #1 - Hamburg, New York

The Lord really gave us a good start to the 28th annual Old Time Baptist Camp Meeting today.  I had the awesome privilege of starting it off by preaching the first message during the Sunday School hour.  This is the first time I have preached in our camp meeting.  Evangelist David Evans preached the morning service and Evangelist Don Hardman preached the evening service.  Special music during the day was brought by Paul Tripp, Laura Hardman and the Suttons.  Two groups from Old Time sang as well (Sounds of Praise and Crown of Glory).

One of my favorite things about our camp meeting is seeing the many people who travel from around the country (and even the world) to be with us.  It is a humbling thing to our church that people would take time from their schedules to travel here to Hamburg.  With the economy the way it is we understand that for a good part of them it is probably a great sacrifice to make the trip.  We pray that God will bless them and give them all they need from the meeting.

After the service tonight our gourmet food court was in full operation.  This is always a great time of food and fellowship for everyone who sticks around.  The fellowship hall was full as well as the tables outside.

TODAY'S PREACHERS AND SERMONS:
Evangelist Craig Cobb - "Jesus First"
Evangelist David Evans - "We See Jesus"
     Evangelist Don Hardman - "Laodicea"

IT'S CAMP MEETIN' TIME AGAIN !!!

It's hard to believe it but it is camp meeting time again here at Old Time Baptist Church in Hamburg, New York.  People have been arriving the past couple of days from: Alabama, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Connecticut, Virginia, Michigan, Tennessee, Italy, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Scotland.

The theme this year is "TURN THE TIDE".  With all of the spiritual decline here in America, we are praying for God's people to take a stand and try to make a difference where God leads them.  Pastors, missionaries, evangelists and singers are going to be doing their best with the help of God to be a blessing to the saints.  We just want the Lord to have His way this week.

DON'T FORGET - you can watch the services live on the internet by clicking here.  Please refer to yesterday's post for the service schedule.

Almost Camp Meeting Time Again!

We thank the Lord for the safety He gave us as we traveled back from Maine.  We arrived home this afternoon around 4:30.  After making quick work of unloading the van we took my mother out for dinner and enjoyed a great time with her.  After dinner I headed to the church for a staff meeting about the upcoming camp meeting.

We are praying for the Lord to give us a great week with God's people.  Even though the meeting doesn't start until Sunday, people started arriving today.  A group from Scotland made it in this evening and there will be folks arriving tomorrow and throughout the weekend.  A vast majority of our guests will be arriving Saturday and Monday.

I am planning to keep up the blog as much as possible throughout the week with updates and pictures.  Hopefully it will happen!

NEW LIFE BAPTIST CHURCH TENT REVIVAL DAYS #5-8 - Dover Foxcroft, Maine

It has been a hectic few days in wrapping up this tent meeting and getting ready for our camp meeting coming up so I apologize for the delay.

Let me start by saying that we had a great time joining the Evans Family for the special music.  Each night would start by Bro. Evans and I singing together then we would bring up the rest of the families to sing a couple more.  It was fun and the church enjoyed it.  The Tent Revival here at New Life ended well.  This update covers days 5-8 which were Thursday thru Sunday.

Both Bro. Evans and I preached on Thursday and Friday nights.  We started the Saturday service at 3:00 in the afternoon and had a big cookout after the service.  I had the privilege of preaching this service.  All three days brought much rain but it did not seem to effect the attendance at all.  We saw visitors in attendance for each service and some are very interested to come back and check out the church.  We are praying the Lord will bring them back out.

Sunday was a good ending to the meeting.  We again had the morning service in the church and Bro. Evans preached.  We finished out in the tent on Sunday evening.  The plan was for me to preach and close out the meeting but the Lord had other plans.  The Evans family sang some special music and then people started testifying.  This went on for about an hour and a half and the Lord really manifested His presence.  I mentioned to Pastor Ireland that the Lord preached and I did not need to say anything.  The service closed and we went to the church building for some fellowship.

NEW LIFE BAPTIST CHURCH TENT REVIVAL DAY #4 - Dover Foxcroft, Maine

Just wanted to do a quick post about the service tonight.  There were a couple of "firsts" take place.  The FIRST first is that Bro. Evans and I sang some special music together.  The SECOND first is that all of the Cobb Family and all of the Evans Family then sang some more special music together.  It was a lot of fun and the people seemed to enjoy it.  I will say that I think we unknowingly started something that will now probably be expected every service for the rest of the meeting!  It really was a good time.

Bro. Evans was the only preacher tonight and let me say he had the power of God all over him.  It was another simple message about the compassion of Christ on the lost.  There was another first time visitor in attendance and several lost people.  Please pray for souls to be saved before the week is over.

I regret I forgot my camera so I didn't get any pictures.  I know this news will be HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING to a couple of individuals in INDIANA and I sincerely apologize.  I am, however, waiting on some pictures from one of the ladies in the church so don't be too sad for too long!!!

NEW LIFE BAPTIST CHURCH TENT REVIVAL - DAYS 1-3 - Dover Foxcroft, Maine

We are so excited to be back at New Life Baptist Church (Pastor David Ireland) in Dover Foxcroft, Maine.  We began coming up hear for an annual spring revival meeting back in 2004.  This is the first time we have been here for their summer tent meeting.  Next year is the church's 20th anniversary and they are having a camp meeting.  This is the first revival meeting they have ever had where there has been more than one preacher so Pastor Ireland wanted to lead into a multi-preacher meeting with having two preachers this year.

It is good to be with our good friends again - Evangelist David Evans and his family.  We have the privilege of being in meetings together a few times a year and we always enjoy our time with them.  He and I have been praying for God to give us some joint revival meetings and this is our second of three this year.

The meeting started Sunday morning in the church building because some of the more senior members of the church have a hard time in the heat and it would be difficult for them to endure a hot tent in the middle of the day.  The Lord blessed and we had three first-time visitors which was a great encouragement to the church.  I had the privilege of opening the meeting by preaching on revival.  Sunday night we moved to the tent and Bro. Evans preached this service and preached a great message on "A Bottle in the Smoke" from the book of Psalms.

Last night (Monday) was another good night for the first weeknight service of the meeting.  There were visitors from other churches around the area as well as northern Maine and some even traveled from New Brunswick, Canada - a good three-hour drive.  There was special music from the Canadians and the Evans Family.  I was the only preacher of the night and God led me to preach a new message called "The Gospel Just Makes Sense".  The altar was full and the lost were preached to.

Tonight (Tuesday) the crowd was down just a bit but part of the group from Canada came back - what a blessing.  The Evans Family again sang some good special music then I got to preach first.  Bro. Evans preached second on the Rapture and it was not only an encouraging message but a very convicting message as well.

After the evening services we have been having refreshments in the church's fellowship hall with most everybody sticking around and enjoying a good time together with God's people.  I really believe that the services themselves are half of the meeting and the fellowship times before and after are the other half of the meeting and really add to it.  People who do not enjoy being with God's people really miss out and it is sad.

Tomorrow night Bro. Evans will be preaching.  I hope you enjoy some pictures taken thus far...

NEW LIFE BAPTIST CHURCH TENT REVIVAL - Dover Foxcroft, Maine with Evangelists David Evans and Craig Cobb

Our next meeting starts tomorrow (August 5th) and goes thru next Sunday, August 12th.  It is good to be back in Maine and we are excited to see what God is going to do this week under the gospel tent at New Life Baptist Church here in Dover Foxcroft.  Pastor David Ireland and the folks have been busy preparing and inviting and I know the Lord is going to bless their efforts.

Evangelist David Evans and I have known each other nine years and I am thankful for our friendship.  We have been praying that the Lord would open some doors for us to preach some meetings together and this is our second one.  He and I preached in a missions conference/revival meeting down in St. Lucia  back in February.  We also have another tent meeting together next month down in Alabama.

Please be in prayer for souls to be saved and the saints to get help as a result of the preaching and singing this week.
